[ Lighting Instructions ]
- If the wick is difficult to light for the first time, gently press the tip to expose the inner Japanese paper.
- These candles are designed for single-use burning.
- If re-lighting the candle, make a small hole at the tip of the wick before lighting.
[ Wick Trimming ]
- During burning, it is necessary to trim the tip of the wick.
- Use a tool that can grasp and cut the wick, such as fire tongs or a cigar cutter.
- When the tip of the wick droops slightly, grasp the tip and cut it off. Leave about 2 cm (0.8 inches) of wick remaining.
- The trimmed wick will still be hot, so place it in a non-flammable dish such as ceramic.
[ Extinguishing the Flame ]
- Do not blow out the flame with your hand, breath, or a fan.
- Cut the flame at its base to extinguish it.
- If the candle burns all the way down, press down the remaining wick or cover it with a non-flammable object to prevent smoke and odor.
- You can also extinguish the flame by dipping the tip of the wick in oil. Make sure only the tip is submerged.
[ Storage Instructions ]
- Store in a cool, dark place. The melting point is low, so exposure to high temperatures may cause the candle to soften or melt (approximately 50–56°C / 122–133°F).
- Do not refrigerate, as extreme cold may cause the surface to crack and peel.
